Privacy Policy
Effective Date: 8/7/2026
Applies to: Meridian: Project Everlast, our website live blog, database services, and official community channels operated by Archlight Studios.
Archlight Studios ("Archlight Studios," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit this website, view our live Discord blog stream, play Meridian: Project Everlast ("the Game"), or interact with our community channels, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using this website or the Game, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are
Meridian: Project Everlast is developed by VexinArcane, operating as Archlight Studios. For any privacy-related question or request, reach out through our Discord.
2. Information We Collect
a. Information from Steam
The Game is distributed through Steam and uses the Steamworks SDK for multiplayer, Steam Cloud saves, and Steam Workshop. When you play, Valve provides us with limited data tied to your Steam account, such as your Steam ID, in-game achievements, and multiplayer session/matchmaking data, so these features can function. We do not receive your Steam password, payment card details, or account credentials.
b. Gameplay and Save Data
The Game stores gameplay data locally on your device and, where Steam Cloud is available, syncs a copy to your Steam Cloud storage. This includes world save data, player inventory and progress, in-game settings, and a record of players who have joined a given world. This data exists solely to let you continue your save and is not used by us for any purpose beyond gameplay functionality.
c. Crash Reports & Diagnostic Data
If crash reporting or basic telemetry is enabled in a build of the Game, it may collect technical information such as hardware specifications, operating system version, crash logs, and stack traces, used solely to identify and fix bugs and stability issues.
d. Website Data
This website does not require account creation and does not collect personal information beyond standard server/hosting logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages visited), which our hosting provider (Vercel) retains for security and diagnostic purposes.
e. Discord Integration, Live Blog & Database Storage
Our website integrates with our official Discord server via our Discord Bot, REST API integrations, and cloud database storage (powered by Neon PostgreSQL). When announcements, release notes, or dev updates are published or edited in monitored public Discord channels (such as #announcements and #dev-updates), our system processes public message content, author display names/usernames, avatar image URLs, timestamps, reaction counts, attachments, and embeds. This data is cached in our PostgreSQL database to visualize real-time announcements on the website.
We do not access or collect private Discord messages, direct messages (DMs), user account tokens, or non-public server channels.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Operate core Game features, including save/load, multiplayer sessions, and Steam Workshop modding
- Store and display public community announcements and dev logs on our website via Neon PostgreSQL database storage
- Diagnose bugs, crashes, and performance issues
- Respond to support requests you send us
- Understand aggregate, non-identifying trends if telemetry is enabled
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service and EULA
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use gameplay or Discord blog data for targeted advertising.
4. Multiplayer & Other Players
Project Everlast's multiplayer is peer-to-peer via Steamworks. When you join or host a public session, your Steam display name and Steam ID are visible to other players in that session, the same way they would be in any Steam multiplayer game.
5. Modding & Steam Workshop
If you create and upload mods through the in-game Mod Creator and Steam Workshop, whatever you choose to include in that upload is publicly visible on Workshop, subject to Valve's own Workshop terms and privacy practices.
6. Children's Privacy
Meridian: Project Everlast contains psychological and survival horror content and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction).
7. Your Rights & Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information we hold about you (for example, under GDPR or CCPA). For any privacy requests or inquiries, reach out through our Discord.
8. Data Retention
We retain database records, diagnostic logs, and support data only as long as needed to operate our services, fix issues, or comply with legal obligations.
9. International Users
If you access the Game or this website from outside Florida, USA, information may be processed in Florida, USA or wherever our infrastructure and cloud providers operate.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the Game, website, and community integrations evolve. We will update the Effective Date above when we do. Material changes will be noted on this page or announced through our community channels.
11. Contact Us
Questions about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled can be raised through our Discord.
